The 2018/19 season is finally here and Forest start the new League campaign as 8/1 joint second favourites with BetBright who have also priced them at a mouth-watering 3/1 to get promoted.
Following an impressive set of pre-season results which saw Aitor Karanka’s men unbeaten in all but one match (including a 2-0 win against Eddie Howe’s Bournemouth at The City Ground last Saturday), Forest go into their opening game of the season at 17/10 when they travel to Bristol City (6/4) on Saturday afternoon.
In recent seasons, The Reds haven’t had the strongest record at The Ashton Gate Stadium, winning just one League game in seven since 2010 – this time around though, there’s reason to believe Forest can buck this trend and bring three points back to The City Ground on Saturday night.
The hosts will not be helped by a couple of important absentees, where the loss of Fielding in goal may lead to some uncertainty at the back so this could very well be an open game, where a Forest side full of attacking flair can cause Lee Johnson’s defence numerous headaches across the ninety minutes.
Summer additions to the Forest squad, which include Portuguese duo, Diogo Goncalves and Joao Carvalho, as well as Gil Dias, will significantly improve Forest’s attack and Michael Dawson re-signing with his boyhood club is a huge boost at the back.
In the last thirteen encounters between Nottingham Forest and Bristol City, both teams have scored in the same fixture five times. Both teams NOT to score is currently Evens with BetBright and going by recent score lines between the two sides, could be a decent play; Nottingham Forest to win to nil (which is 7/2 with BetBright) could also prove a popular selection.
Ben Osborn has previously enjoyed facing The Robins, scoring against them in two of the last three seasons, so it would be no surprise to see his name on the scoresheet again this time around.
If you’re backing Forest to do the business at the Ashton gate Stadium on Saturday, then don’t miss out on this exclusive enhancement from BetBright who are boosting Forest to win from 17/10 to 8/1!
